We are Recruiting - Graduate and Junior level Ecologists and Ornithologists

BiOME Consulting Ltd is a specialist ecological consultancy, with an outstanding team of in-house ornithologists and ecologists. Are you a graduate or early career ecologist/ornithologist looking for a DIVERSE AND REWARDING CAREER IN ECOLOGICAL CONSULTANCY?

We are seeking reliable graduate ornithologists/ecologists to supplement our team due to increasing workloads. Ideally based in Shropshire/mid-Wales (although other locations may be considered), you will work closely with other team members to help deliver surveys, reporting and assessment to a high standard.

Every year we work on a wide variety of projects, recently this has included:

  •      Bengal Florican impact assessment in Cambodia.

  •      Surveys (avian and invertebrate) and assessment to inform SSSI condition assessment for Natural England of ten statutorily designated sites across England.

  •      Nest finding, ringing and monitoring of Whinchat and Curlew at four locations for conservation projects.

  •      Stone-curlew monitoring in Norfolk.

  •      A wide variety of species-specific and generic surveys across the UK.

  • Protected species surveys and licencing at a large number of sites

The successful candidate will hold relevant degree, possess the ability to work well within a small team, be reliable, flexible and willing to work unsociable hours and at remote sites (when required). A clean, full UK drivers licence is essential. GIS capabilities would be highly beneficial.

If applying for a role as an ornithologist, you will have outstanding bird identification skills.

Salary:  This role is full-time (40hrs/week) with a starting salary of £19,000 – £26,000 per annum, depending on experience.

To apply for this position, please send your CV, along with a covering letter, to martyn@biomeconsulting.com.

NOTE: We are always seeking reliable ornithologists to join our team so please get in touch whether a graduate or otherwise.
