BiOME Consulting Ltd is a specialist ornithological consultancy, with an outstanding team of in-house ornithologists. Are you a birder looking for a DIVERSE AND REWARDING CAREER IN ORNITHOLOGICAL CONSULTANCY?

We are seeking a reliable graduate ornithologist to join our team, ideally based in Shropshire/mid-Wales (although other locations may be considered). You will work closely with other ornithology/ecology team members to help deliver surveys, reporting and assessment to a high standard.

Every year we work on a wide variety of avian projects, in 2021/22 this has included:

Bengal Florican impact assessment in Cambodia.
Surveys and assessment to inform SSSI condition assessment for Natural England of six statutorily designated sites across England.
Nest finding, ringing and monitoring of Whinchat and Curlew at four locations for conservation projects.
Stone-curlew monitoring in Norfolk.
A wide variety of species-specific and generic surveys across the UK.

The successful candidate will have outstanding bird identification skills, the ability to work well within a small team, reliable, flexible and willing to work unsociable hours and at remote sites. A clean, full UK drivers licence is essential.

Salary: This role is full-time (40hrs/week) with a starting salary of £19,000 – £21,000 per annum, depending on experience.
