Entomology

Entomological surveys and assessments are often overlooked. However, many invertebrate groups are superb ecological indicators of overall species richness and the significance of micro-habitats for a range of insect species is becoming increasingly acknowledged.

Habitat specialist butterflies such as Marsh Fritillary, in addition to many moth and Odonata species are susceptible to habitat degradation during the construction phase of developments and some are of high conservation concern thus requiring consideration throughout the planning process.

At BiOME we are capable of providing entomological assessments using our professional ecologists who are experienced in a range of recognised techniques.
