BiOME in Sussex and the South-East

BiOME have been developing a presence in south-east England since 2022, with a new office now established in Worthing, West Sussex.

We provide a wide range of ecological services and protected species surveys, specialising in ornithological survey and assessment. This includes a full range of more technical and non-standard surveys, such as nocturnal surveys and acoustic monitoring, as well as surveys for Schedule 1 breeding birds and standard breeding and wintering bird surveys.

Amongst other projects managed from our Sussex office, ecological survey and assessment work in the south-east last year included:

• Breeding bird surveys for a solar farm in Hampshire.

• A Barn Owl survey for a residential development in Berkshire.

• Black Redstart surveys in Kent.

• Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs) for residential developments in Surrey and Essex.

• Bat surveys in Surrey and Kent.

UK Habitat surveys, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments and a River Corridor Assessment (RCA) survey for residential and industrial development sites in Essex.
