Job Vacancy - Ecologist, East Anglia

Location: ideally east Norfolk but anywhere in Norfolk/Suffolk/east Cambs considered.

Salary - £28,600-35,000 pa subject to experience

Biome Consulting Ltd is a specialist ecological consultancy, with a dynamic and outstanding team of in-house ecologists. Are you an ecologist looking for, or looking to progress, a DIVERSE AND REWARDING CAREER IN ECOLOGICAL CONSULTANCY?

We are seeking an ecologist to supplement our East Anglian team due to increasing workloads. You will be a home worker, working closely with other team members to help deliver surveys, reporting and assessment to a high standard.

Applicants for the role of ecologist should possess the following:

·      A Natural England bat survey licence, or be working towards it.

·      A minimum of two year’s experience working with an ecological consultancy or similar wildlife organisation as a Graduate/Assistant Ecologist or similar.

·      Experience in report writing, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments and Preliminary Roost Assessments.

·      A member of (or working towards) CIEEM or similar.

·      A full UK driving licence

Every year we work on a wide variety of exciting projects for a diversity of clients and your role would be varied with site work and desk time each week. You would be expected to help mentor our Graduate Ecologists and work collaboratively with the entire UK ecology team. CPD and internal/external training is encouraged, with opportunities to work towards additional survey licences (bats, Great Crested Newts, Barn Owls, etc.)

Working hours: 40 hours p/w with all overtime paid or accrued as Time of in Lieu
