Welcoming Matt Binding

We welcome Matt Binding to BiOME, who joins us as a Graduate Ornithologist.

Matt obtained a BA (Hons) in Marine and Natural History Photography from Falmouth University, graduating in 2021. Prior to joining BiOME, he worked as a freelance ornithologist, undertaking breeding and winter bird surveys alongside Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) roles. He has also gained wider seasonal ecological experience, working with bats, reptiles, birds and orchids. In 2024, Matt undertook a residential volunteering placement at Spurn Bird Observatory.

First and foremost a keen birdwatcher, Matt also has a strong interest in Lepidoptera and Odonata. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking in the Brecon Beacons, woodworking and photography.
